Troubleshooting

Scrape button not showing? Data not saving? Start here.

Getting started

Chrome Web Store (recommended) — Search for "scrappe.am" in the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome. Done.
1

Install from the Chrome Web Store

Click Add to Chrome on the store page. Chrome will ask to confirm — click Add Extension.

2

Pin the extension (optional but useful)

Click the puzzle icon (🧩) in your Chrome toolbar → find scrappe.am → click the pin icon to keep it visible.

3

Log in to TikTok

Go to tiktok.com and make sure you're logged into your account. The extension reads what's visible on screen, so you need to be signed in.

4

Start scraping

Navigate to any TikTok profile, click Followers or Following to open the list, then press the green ◈ Scrape button that appears in the modal header.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

It works on any account whose follower/following list you can already see while logged in. For private accounts, TikTok may show a message saying only the account owner can see all followers — the extension will still collect whatever TikTok makes visible to you.
The extension auto-scrolls until no new users appear — so it collects as many as TikTok will load in the modal. For very large accounts (millions of followers), TikTok may stop loading after a certain point. In practice, most accounts yield several hundred to a few thousand users per session depending on TikTok's loading behaviour.
All scraped data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage. It never leaves your device and is not sent to any server. You can delete it any time from the extension popup using the Clear button.
The CSV includes these columns: Username, Display Name, Profile URL, Avatar URL, List Type, Scraped From, Scraped At. It opens directly in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet tool.
Yes — the Scrape button appears whenever the TikTok followers modal is open, regardless of which tab (Followers, Following, or Suggested) you have active.
scrappe.am reads DOM content that is already visible on your screen — it does not make any automated API requests or simulate abnormal behaviour. That said, use it responsibly and at your own discretion. We recommend not scraping at an extremely high volume in very short periods.
Yes. Any Chromium-based browser that supports Chrome extensions (Brave, Edge, Opera, Arc) can run scrappe.am. Install it the same way via the Chrome Web Store.
Instagram and Facebook scraping are planned for a future release. The extension popup already shows these as "Coming Soon" platform tabs.

Troubleshooting

Something not working?

Try these steps in order:

  • Make sure you're on tiktok.com (not a mobile app or webview)
  • Refresh the TikTok page and try opening the modal again
  • Check that the extension is enabled — go to chrome://extensions and confirm scrappe.am is toggled on
  • Try closing and reopening the followers modal
  • If TikTok recently updated their UI, we may need to release a patch — check the Chrome Web Store for an update
The extension stops when three consecutive scroll passes yield no new users. This usually means TikTok has stopped loading more entries (which it sometimes does on very large accounts). Try closing the modal, reopening it, and running Scrape again — the results will be merged with the previous session in your popup.
Wait for the Scrape button to change to Done ✓ before opening the popup — sessions are only saved when the scrape completes. If the issue persists, try reloading the extension from chrome://extensions.
This usually means the scrape session has no data. Check that the session card in the popup shows a user count greater than 0 before exporting. If display names are missing, TikTok may have changed their DOM structure — check for an extension update.
